About flange bolts
Jul 24, 2023

Flange bolts: Flange bolts are integral bolts consisting of hexagon head and flange (the gasket under the hexagon and the hexagon are fixed together) and screw (cylinder with external thread), which need to be matched with the bolt. A bolted connection is a perceivable connection in order to assume the connection of parts through two holes.

Classification:

1. Hexagonal head type: one is flat-brained and the other is concave-brained.

2. Surface color category: According to different needs, the surface has white plating, army green, colorful yellow, and corrosion-resistant Dacromet.

3. Flange type: According to the different use positions of the flange bolts, the size requirements of the flange are different. There are also flat bottom and toothed ones, and the toothed ones play an anti-skid role.

4. According to the force bearing mode of the connection, there are ordinary and hinged holes. The flange bolts used for the hinged holes must match the size of the holes and are used when receiving lateral forces.

In addition, in order to meet the needs of locking after installation, there are holes in the rod. These holes can prevent the bolts from loosening when they are vibrated.

Some flange bolts have no thread on the polished rod, which is called thin rod flange bolts. This flange bolt is conducive to the connection of variable force.

Use:

Flange bolts are composed of hexagonal heads and flanges, and their "ratio of support area to stress area" is larger than that of ordinary bolts, so this kind of bolts can withstand higher pre-tightening force and have better anti-loosening performance, so they are widely used. Used in automobile engines, heavy machinery and other products.
